The firm offers Land Surveying & Civil Engineering Services for projects in the greater Charlotte area (North and South Carolina) to a wide variety of clients, public and private. All computation, design, and drafting are performed in-house using AutoDesk Civil 3D software. The firm emphasizes personal skill and knowledge applied to projects in a traditional way while using the most up-to-date equipment and techniques.
Lucas-Forman as successor to David M. Lucas, PE, has over 38 years of land surveying and civil engineering experience in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. This experience and understanding of local trade practices allows the firm to give the client a lump sum fee for the majority of our services. The firm performs surveys ranging from a residential mortgage survey to surveying an 1100-acre McDowell Nature Preserve and 1300-acre Latta Nature Preserve for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department. We have provided engineering services for retail centers as large as 200,000 square feet, industrial subdivisions up to 110 acres, office and business development, apartment and condominium projects, and residential subdivisions as large as 300 acres and 700 lots.
Land development services are usually performed as a complete project that includes a boundary and topographic survey, development plan, design of grading and site facilities, plan approval processing, and construction layout.
